A new EU law, in force since August 2026
Your business uses AI? New EU rules apply to you.
Even if it's just ChatGPT. Europe's AI Act asks every business that uses AI to do a few simple things. Clareo tells you which ones apply to you, and writes what you need in about five minutes.
Start with your website
We read your homepage the way a visitor would and show what we can see: a chat widget, a notice about AI, a privacy policy link. You confirm the rest.
No website? Tick the AI tools you use instead.
Plus a team note on AI use (Art. 4), written for you. Declared by the business on 1 Oct 2026. Indicative, not a certificate of compliance.
What you get at the end: one page, each point tied to the article behind it.

Everything you need, in one document: your AI file.
Written for your business, with each point tied to the article behind it.
Texts for your customers
The exact sentence your website chatbot should open with, and the label for AI-made images. With your business name, ready to paste.
Art. 50(1)A note for your team
A one-page note listing the AI tools you use and simple house rules, so staff know what is allowed. Dated, ready to email.
Art. 4A record of your AI tools
Every tool, what it is used for, whether it sees personal data, and what you did about it. Something to show a client, a partner or an auditor.
RegisterA page for your customers
A short “How we use AI” page, written for you, to link from your website footer. Customers see you are open about it.
OptionalA clear flag when it's serious
If you use AI to screen job applicants or decide on credit, Clareo says so plainly and tells you to see a lawyer. It never guesses.
Annex III
Three steps, about five minutes.
Tell us which AI you use
Tick the tools from a list, or let us check your website first. No legal questions.
Say what you use it for
Writing emails, answering customers, making images. What you do with a tool decides what applies.

What people ask first.
What is the AI Act?
A European Union law on artificial intelligence. Most of it is aimed at companies that build AI. But a few rules apply to any business that uses AI tools: tell people when they are talking to an AI, label realistic AI-made images, and help your staff understand the AI they use. Those are the rules Clareo takes care of.
Does the AI Act apply to my business if I only use ChatGPT?
A little. Writing emails with ChatGPT usually needs no label. But the AI Act also asks every business that uses AI to help its staff understand the tools (Article 4). Clareo writes that team note for you, which is often all you need.
Is this legal advice?
No. Clareo is a documentation aid. It records what you told it, shows what usually applies, and names the article behind each point. When a use is high-risk, it tells you to see a lawyer instead of guessing.
What happens if I do nothing?
The AI Act has fines, and for small businesses they are capped at the lower of the fixed amount or the percentage of turnover. The more everyday risk is a customer, partner or public buyer asking how you use AI and you having nothing to show.
What does the website check look at?
Only your public homepage, the way a visitor sees it. It looks for chat widgets, any mention of AI, and a privacy policy link. It respects robots.txt, doesn't log in anywhere, and keeps nothing from your page.
Can my accountant do this for me?
Yes. Your accountant can invite you with a link and see when your AI file is ready. You still answer the questions yourself, because only you know which AI your business uses. If you start on your own, you can add your accountant later.

About five minutes. The website check and the check-in are free.
